LIFE IN ROSELAND
What it's like to live in Roseland.
Roseland sits between Guelph Line and Walkers Line, from New Street right down to Lake Ontario. It was first laid out in 1923 as an English-style garden suburb, and the City of Burlington has since recognized it as a Neighbourhood Character Area to help protect its mature trees, historic character and spacious lots.
It's quiet and almost entirely residential, yet downtown is only about five minutes away, and Burlington GO and the QEW are both close by. It's also home to the Roseland Park Country Club, a private tennis and social club that has been part of the community since 1929.
THE HOMES
Homes with history, and room to build.
Roseland has some of the most charming homes in the city. Its earliest streets are lined with 1920s to 1940s English Cottage, Tudor, Georgian Colonial, Cape Cod and Arts and Crafts homes, and later decades brought bungalows, side-splits and two-storey homes on lots that are often 50 to 100 feet wide.
Today you'll also find beautiful custom builds and luxury lakefront estates along Lakeshore Road. Homes in Roseland typically range from roughly $1.8 million to $5 million+.
MY LOCAL FAVOURITES
Where you'll find me in Roseland.
Parks and walks: the lake is right at the bottom of the street. Port Nelson Park reopened in 2026 and is a quiet spot on the water, and Sioux Lookout Park, just along Lakeshore Road, has beautiful lake views under the mature trees.
Coffee: Peach Coffee Co. on Guelph Line for a bright, welcoming morning coffee, and JC's Hot Bagels on New Street for fresh bagels and an easy breakfast or lunch.
A bite to eat: Olive Us Greek on Guelph Line, a local favourite for Greek takeout or a casual dinner, right next door to Peach Coffee.
