LIFE IN HEADON FOREST

What it's like to live in Headon Forest.

Tucked between Guelph Line and Walkers Line, north of Upper Middle Road, Headon Forest is an established north Burlington neighbourhood with wide lots, family-sized homes and a tree-lined path winding right through it. It's named after Thomas Headon, who settled this wooded corner of Burlington in the 1840s. Most of the neighbourhood was built in the late 1980s and early 90s, and today it's a quiet, family-friendly place with schools, parks and everyday shopping all close by.

A tree-lined walking and cycling path winds diagonally through the neighbourhood, and on a clear day you can see the escarpment to the north. When it's time to get somewhere, the 407, QEW and 403 are all an easy drive.

THE HOMES

Family homes on wide, leafy lots.

Most homes in Headon Forest are brick detached two-storeys on wide, landscaped lots, the kind of homes families grow into and stay in for years. There are also some semis and townhome clusters, which make a great first step into the neighbourhood.

Detached homes have recently sold around $1.2 million. Prices change with the market, so reach out anytime for a current snapshot.

MY LOCAL FAVOURITES

Where you'll find me in Headon Forest.

Parks and walks: Ireland Park is the neighbourhood's go-to, with sports fields, a splash pad and a community garden. The walking path through the neighbourhood is perfect for an after-dinner walk, and Ireland House on Guelph Line, a farmhouse dating back to 1837, is such a fun little piece of local history to visit with the kids.

Coffee: Peach Coffee Co. at Walkers and Upper Middle is my pick for a really good latte, and there's a Starbucks inside Longo's on Walkers Line when you're grabbing groceries anyway.

Restaurants: Jersey's Bar & Grill on Headon Road is the neighbourhood spot for wings and the game. And just a short drive south on Walkers, Rust Bistrobar is one of my favourites for dinner or a weekend brunch.
