LIFE IN LONGMOOR

What it's like to live in Longmoor.

Tucked between Walkers Line and Appleby Line, from New Street up to Fairview, Longmoor is a friendly south Burlington neighbourhood with mature trees, quiet crescents and Nelson Park right in the middle of it all. It was built mostly in the 1960s and 70s, and it still has that classic neighbourhood feel, with lots of courts and crescents where kids can play out front and a little pocket of Irish-named streets like Dublin, Galway and Tipperary.

Nelson Park is the heart of the neighbourhood, with its outdoor pool, splash pad and skate park, and the Centennial Trail runs right through for an easy walk or bike ride. When it's time to get somewhere, Appleby GO is just north of Fairview and the QEW is only minutes away.

THE HOMES

Classic family homes on quiet crescents.

Most homes in Longmoor are detached bungalows, backsplits, sidesplits and two-storeys on mature lots, many of them updated over the years. You'll also find semis, link homes and some newer townhomes closer to Fairview.

It's a great way to get into south Burlington, close to the lake and the shops on Appleby, at a lower price point than Shoreacres or Roseland. Detached homes averaged around $1.1 million in 2025. Prices change with the market, so reach out anytime for a current snapshot.

MY LOCAL FAVOURITES

Where you'll find me in Longmoor.

Parks and walks: Nelson Park on New Street is where everyone ends up, whether it's a summer swim in the 50-metre outdoor pool, the splash pad, the skate park or a game on the fields. The Centennial Trail is a paved path running east to west through the neighbourhood, and Longmoor Park and Iroquois Park are perfect for a quick walk with the kids or the dog.

Food and everyday stops: Longmoor is mostly homes, but there are a couple of great spots right on the north side of New Street. Marilu's Market is a gem for gourmet groceries and prepared meals, City Pizza is just down the street for an easy Friday night, and the plaza by the New Appleby library branch takes care of the quick stops.
