LIFE IN ALTON VILLAGE

What it's like to live in Alton Village.

Tucked between Walkers Line and Appleby Line, from Dundas Street up to the 407, Alton Village is one of Burlington's newest neighbourhoods, with newer homes, great schools and parks just about everywhere. It was built from 2006 on farmland that once belonged to Thomas Alton, who settled here in the early 1800s, and his restored family home still stands on Settlement Court. It was planned to be walkable, so schools, parks and shops are all woven right into the neighbourhood.

The Haber Recreation Centre and the Alton library branch are right in the middle of it all, and with the 407 at the top of the neighbourhood and Appleby GO about 10 minutes away, getting around is easy.

THE HOMES

Newer homes, built for busy families.

Most homes in Alton Village are two-storey brick and stone detached homes, semis and townhomes, along with some low-rise condos and live-work towns. Yards are on the smaller side, which a lot of busy families love, and most homes have double garages.

Detached homes averaged around $1.44 million in spring 2026. Prices change with the market, so reach out anytime for a current snapshot.

MY LOCAL FAVOURITES

Where you'll find me in Alton Village.

Parks and walks: Norton Community Park is the big one, with a splash pad, skate park, off-leash dog area and sports fields. Palladium Park and Doug Wright Park are perfect for a quick play, and there's a walking trail running between Appleby and Walkers. The Haber Recreation Centre and Alton library branch are also a huge bonus for families.

Coffee and everyday stops: Roasta Café on Appleby Line is a newer independent café with great lattes, baked goods and an all-day brunch menu, and it's already one of my favourites. For everyday errands, the plaza at Walkers and Dundas has Farm Boy, the LCBO and a Starbucks.
