LIFE IN MOUNTAINSIDE
What it's like to live in Mountainside.
Tucked between Brant Street and Guelph Line, from the QEW up to Upper Middle Road, Mountainside is a friendly, established neighbourhood with mature trees, wide lots and everything you need close by. It was first developed in the 1950s as Mountain Gardens, named for its view of the escarpment, and it quickly became a favourite with families.
Mountainside Park is the heart of it all, with its 50-metre outdoor pool, double-loop waterslide, splash pad and skate park, and a long walking and cycling path runs right through the neighbourhood. Downtown is about 10 minutes away, and the QEW, 403 and 407 are all close by.
THE HOMES
Classic homes on wide, leafy lots.
Most homes in Mountainside are detached brick and siding homes built from the 1950s to the 80s, from ranch-style and raised bungalows to split-levels and two-storey Colonials, many on wide lots with room for a garden or a pool.
It's one of Burlington's more affordable family neighbourhoods, which makes it a great first step for buyers. Prices change with the market, so reach out anytime for a current snapshot.
MY LOCAL FAVOURITES
Where you'll find me in Mountainside.
Parks and walks: Mountainside Park and Pool is where everyone ends up in the summer, whether it's the waterslide, the splash pad or the skate park. The walking and cycling path through the neighbourhood is perfect for an easy walk or bike ride, and Roly Bird Park has a fenced leash-free area for the dog.
A bite to eat: Burlington Heights Plaza at Guelph Line and Upper Middle has a couple of my favourites: Barra Fion for tapas and a glass of wine, and Gator Ted's for a casual night out. Over in Mount Royal Plaza, Mount Royal Family Restaurant is a local classic for a homestyle breakfast, and Mount Royal Pizza is perfect for an easy Friday night.
Sweets and everyday stops: Mountainside Delights on Mountainside Drive is a sweet little local shop for ice cream, milkshakes and frozen yogurt. For errands, the Burlington Power Centre and Costco on Brant Street have everything covered, and Mount Royal Plaza takes care of the quick stops.
